The mystery surrounding the sudden death of Michael Jackson depend on Sunday when his family opted for a second autopsy.

The 50-year-old pop legend had reportedly died of a suspected cardiac arrest on Thursday and soon after reports started emerging about the role of prescribed drugs and "enablers" in his entourage, who encouraged his dependency on painkillers.

Jacko’s family got a second independent examination by a private pathologist on Sunday, dissatisfied with the inconclusive result of the first autopsy, which had ruled out foul play.

"We don't like what's going on," was a quote from family patriarch Joe Jackson.

The coroner's office had earlier said that the cause of Jackson's death will only be determined after toxicology reports which will take up to six weeks.

Jackson's family is concerned with the role of his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who was present with the performer when he breathed his last.

Meanwhile an article from Telegraph.co.uk reports that Recent appearances of Michael Jackson have prompted rumors by many fans that Michael Jackson has employed a “look-alike” body double to carry the burden of the up-coming world tour.

The shock news that pop legend Michael Jackson has suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at the age of 50 has sent his fans reeling.  The big question is, was it really Michael Jackson who died?

Many who watched the press announcement for the up-coming world tour were convinced that it was not the real Jacko…….but a body double that faced the eager press.

Many devoted fans watching world tour announcement and other recent appearances commented that his hands, face, stature and general demeanor and mannerisms were unfamiliar (beyond any consequences of physical surgery), leading to rumors of a body double.

It is not the first time that the web has carried rumors and gossip about Michael Jackson's death.

Claims that the singer's decomposed body had been found at his Neverland ranch and that an impostor had taken his place circulated four years ago but originated from a spoof story on the satirical site The Onion.

Aside from the more outlandish theories about Michael Jackson's death there was genuine debate about the cause.

Internet news reports questioned why his personal doctor had been with the singer at his home but had been unable to help him and why reports of the singer's death took so long to confirm.

The main theory was that his collapse stemmed from an over reliance on prescription painkillers after sustaining a series of injuries in rehearsal.

The web is awash with some crazy theories as outlined below

1) Michael Jackson was killed by Mahmud Ahmadinejad to distract attention from Iran

For: The King of Pop's death was perfectly timed for the wobbling Iranian regime. Just as reports of its post-election clampdown were provoking howls of protest in the West, and pushing the previously hesitant President Obama to say he was "appalled and outraged", Jackos death sucked media attention from Persia to Bel Air. Even more tellingly, "Michael Jackson RIP" replaced "Iran election" at the top of Twitter's trending topics, effectively killing off the last hopes of a revolution.

Against: No evidence whatsoever.

2) Michael Jackson faked his own death to escape money worries/start new life/hang out with Elvis

For: Michael Jackson's precarious financial position has been well documented. Around £200 million in debt and under pressure from creditors to boost his finances with the grueling 50-date London residency, one could understand why the King of Pop might want to flee. The predictable sales boost that followed his "death" and the 200 unreleased songs he reportedly bequeathed his children in his will should be enough to provide for Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket while their father kicks back in Mexico.

Against: The Los Angeles coroner's offices - who are considered experts on these things - carried out a post mortem and expressed no doubts that the body was a) Michael Jackson and b) dead.

3) Michael Jackson died two years ago, and was replaced by an impersonator for the O2 press conference

For: Michael Jackson's appearance at the O2 arena to promote his London dates in March was bizarre, even by his standards. Arriving 90 minutes late, he led the crowd in a brief, inane chant of "This Is It" before leaving the stage with a loping, unfamiliar walk. Conspiracy theorists claimed that he was too tall and his fingers were too stumpy for it to be the real Jacko, and suggested the King of Pop had been replaced by an impersonator after suffering a pre-conference injury or attack of the nerves. A more audacious theory is that Jackson has been "played" by lookalikes since being found dead at his Neverland ranch several years ago.

Against: His entire family and circle of intimates would have had to be in on the plan. And could they have really have keep it secret from the all-knowing TMZ?

4) Michael Jackson and the triad of celebrity deaths

For: The incredulous reactions to the first reports of Jackson's demise stemmed, in large part, from the fact that the public was still struggling to come to terms with Farrah Fawcett's death. And just days earlier the US had lost another cultural icon, the television personality and comedian Ed McMahon. Three celebrity deaths in as many days sent the internet's rumor mongers into frenzy, and led to spurious Twitter claims that Jeff Goldblum and Harrison Ford had joined the show business casualty list.

Against: Jackson, Fawcett and McMahon had little in common. And no-one has made even a slightly convincing explanation for why someone would want them all dead.

The official story is that King of pop Michael Jackson died on  June 25, 2009 after entering full cardiac arrest.

He collapsed and stopped breathing after an injection of a powerful painkiller Demerol.

Jacko, 50, was said to be addicted to the drug - similar to morphine - and it is feared he took an overdose or was injected by his private GP.

Paramedics who raced to his Los Angeles home after an emergency call found he had no pulse. And frantic attempts to revive him failed.

The Thriller star, who had reportedly been fighting skin cancer, was due to start a series of comeback concerts in London next month, with some theories saying that this could have lead to a fake death, infact what would be a bigger stage than a "back from the dead tour"?

Instead, millions of shocked fans around the globe are today mourning a legend either forever or until MJ makes the greatest comeback of all time!

I shall leave it to your own judgment as to what you wish to believe.
